Why you’re getting this
Friends, colleagues, readers, and prospective partners—over the past year I’ve been building something a little different: a compound security platform that serves citizens and decision-makers at the same time. It combines clear writing, a modular podcast (The Civic Brief), and hands-on advisory work for public, private, and civic organizations.
This note is your plain-spoken explainer: what we do, why it matters now, and exactly how you (and your team or community) can use it.
The short version
The world changed: risks now converge—military, economic, technological, environmental, and civic. Treating them as separate problems is how you lose.

What “compound security” means—without the jargon
Most “threat models” still treat problems one by one: a conflict here, a supply shock there, a cyber incident over there. But reality doesn’t respect our silos. A drone wave in one theater moves insurance rates in another. A flood in your county strains national grid reliability. A partisan brawl online becomes a real-world confrontation at a polling site.
Compound security says: plan for convergence. Design strategies where Defense, Diplomacy, Development, and Commercial moves are sequenced and mutually reinforcing, not competing line items. And hold yourself to outcomes citizens can feel: open schools, stocked shelves, working ports, safe elections, trusted institutions.
A quick test of whether a plan is compound-ready:
Does it protect a chokepoint you truly depend on (a strait, a substation, a water source, a data center)?
Does it build legitimacy (fairness, transparency, restraint) while it applies force or leverage?
Can it last six months without cannibalizing itself (people, parts, money, politics)?
If not, it’s theater—not deterrence.
The Civic Brief: a “modcast” for an unsettled republic
Every episode suite follows a simple spine:

We recently ran a logic-consistency analysis across our Season 1 schedule to ensure the show keeps its promise—strategic depth and civic usefulness.
It confirmed strong alignment on mission, the embedded W.i.S.E. Way, and our modular format (interview → analysis → immersive). It also flagged two upgrades we’ve since made: (1) more speculative Walk With Me episodes, and (2) hard-wired, episode-specific calls to action that convert insight into participation.
